Finding My Sport

Finding My Sport

I want to start this post out by saying my heart goes to anyone who was affected by the Las Vegas shootings early early this morning.

I wish I was more athletic honestly, but I don’t push myself hard enough. If I did I think I’d be better but I just play sports for fun and not for competition. When I was younger I played soccer until about 8th grade. I also did T-ball for a year or two but I hated it. I did gymnastics, track, and volleyball in middle school and I really liked gymnastics and volleyball but when you go to high school everything becomes more scary. I got scared of playing in front of people in an enclosed space like our school gym. It freaks me out and I get nervous and anxious that I’m gonna mess up and everyone is going to see it and be mad at me. It’s just anxiety messing with my mind but I let it take over and I let it win. Then I heard about tennis, and I thought I’d give it a try. I started playing tennis my freshman year and I’ve played it every year since then. I’m a senior now and I am so excited for the season to start. It’s outside so I don’t feel like I’m enclosed, and the sport itself is just really fun. Also you can play tennis when you’re older too, I see older people all the time playing tennis. What you don’t see though is older people playing soccer or baseball/softball because it’s just not likely. That’s why I think tennis is a great sport and everyone should play it. You don’t have to be super athletic to play for fun, and if you want to play it and compete then go for it! I can’t wait for the tennis season to start!

What kind of sports or hobbies did you play/do in high school or even now? LMK in the comments!

XOXO LEXIE
