If you were wondering what happened in history today, which you probably weren’t, then here I am to tell you what happened on the day of May 12th.


May 12th: 

1926 – The British general strike ends with no changes for working conditions or wages for the miners.

1932 – Charles Lindbergh, a famous inventor, explorer, and environmental activist. His son was kidnapped and found dead today miles away from their home.

1987 – In China, a forest fire had spread quickly in Mohe County of the Heilongjiang Province is now covering more than 2,000 square miles with 100 dead. The fire ended up burning two and a half million acres and leaving 50,000 people homeless, and 193 dead.

2006 – Dozens of people are killed by an explosion at an oil pipeline in Nigeria.

2013 – Nineteen people were injured after a shooting occurred during a Mother’s Day parade in New Orleans, Louisiana. Two children were injured. The police said that they think it was related to street violence not terrorism.
